Design a responsive website where European travel enthusiasts and tour alumni alike will share their travel experiences and learn from each other while helping convert passive Rick Steves fans into engaged and enthusiastic community members.

Process

Discover:

After a robust Discovery Session with Rick Steves' stakeholders to gain a strong understanding of the company’s needs and goals, GLG created a soup to nuts user experience featuring dynamically contextual content for each site user. Artifacts to come out of this workshop include a Customer Journey Map and a Roadmap.

Ideate:

During the ideation phase both an Information Architecture and Content Strategy Pass were undertaken. The resulting artifacts included a Sitemap, Responsive Wireframes, and a Content Model.

Validate:

After launch and through site analytics, it was determined that one set of pages could be performing better. The Tours sections was revisited, a new iteration launched, and site metrics improved substantially.

As a testament to the sustainability of this project, this site is still live today, a full six years after it's redesign.
